December 10th is Human Rights Day. In their August edition, AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL’S magazine featured different articles on the International Criminal Court in The Hague, including one on the US, who are fighting and trying to sabotage it, and an interview with German Klaus Rackwitz who helps building it. There’s also a critical piece on the German code of crimes against international Law (Voelkerstrafgesetzbuch) and it’s so far meager results. You’ll also find national reports on the USA as well as on European countries on

The book “USA – Hueter der Menschenrechte?“ is unfortunately out of print right now, but you can order a short version on the website. This year’s edition of amnesty international’s annual report is focused on the fight against terror. (Menschenrechte 2003, Suhrkamp Taschenbuch Verlag).
