"It is the responsibility of intellectuals to speak the truth and to expose lies." That might explain the cottage industry that's sprung up in the blogosphere devoted to debunking Chomsky's drivel.

Thomas on :

I think it explains the entire blogosphere. We are not anymore "the audience" of the media, but their fact checkers and lie exposers. Mark, what particular debunking of Chomsky are you thinking of? What's his biggest lie?

ROA on :

Thomas - Very true, and a lot of people who are not used to being challenged don't like it..

FrauBudgie on :

I could never figure how a professor in linguistics got so much credibility in political rhetoric.

Thomas on :

I thought Chomsky makes good arguments most of the time. I am still waiting for anyone to let me know about his factual mistakes...

ROA on :

There is a book out refuting Chomsky: The Anti-Chomsky Reader: http://www.nationalreview.com/comment/magram200407190845.asp And there was an article written concerning a debate between Chomsky and Alan Dershowitz at Harvard: http://powerlineblog.com/archives/012448.php#012448
